About

My name is Vince Mazzocchi and this is my spot.

You might know me from the Harrison Mixbus courses I’ve taught (Getting the Most from Mixbus, Make Brilliant Mixes Now with Harrison Mixbus).

Less of you might know me from Americana bands I’ve been in (Humboldt Road, Fantino, The Grass Fed Giants).

Maybe a few of you will know me soon from the electronic guitar music I’m making under the name Hollow Arch.

I started Making Better Noise as a light-hearted satirical outlet for my observations about (and sometimes frustrations with) making music, and as a place where I could fulfill my need to write creatively.

I had a lot of fun with it, but over time I realized that what I really wanted boiled down to something much simpler; a place to nerd out on music creation and everything that goes along with it.

As a part time “bedroom producer”, sometime “project studio owner”, often “musician”, “singer/songwriter”, or whatever label you want to slap on my big ol’ noggin, I don’t always get to connect with others who love to do what I do as much as I love to do it.

So I’m turning MBN into my way to do that.  And I hope some of you will be fellow music production nerds that I can geek out with, commiserate, and laugh with – about what is often an exciting, ludicrous, exasperating, maddening, and fricking wonderful & rewarding pursuit.  Namely, the unrelenting chase for constant improvement in making great music.

Or, as I like to call it – Making Better Noise.
